Peer Review Process
What is peer review?
Peer review is a process whereby independent researchers in the relevant research area assess submitted manuscripts and provide an assessment of their originality, accuracy, validity and significance to help editors determine whether a manuscript should be published in their journal.
How does it work?
All submitted manuscripts are read and assessed by the editorial staff to ensure it meets the criteria for submission and if so, the manuscript is sent for external peer-review (double-blind), typically to two or three reviewers. Once sufficient peer-reviews are in, the editor then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice on whether to accept, reject or offer revision.
Why do peer review?
Peer review is a form of quality control for academic journals that confirms the validity of the manuscript and it is a very useful source of feedback to alert you to any errors in your work or point out gaps in a paper that require more explanation or additional experiments to improve your paper before it is published.
How peer review works?
Step 1: Submission
The first step in the peer review process begins with the preparation of the manuscript following strictly the selected journal’s guidelines for authors and formatting requirements to ensure compliance. The manuscript can be submitted through the journal’s email submission system.
Step 2: Editorial Assessment
After the manuscript is submitted, and the manuscript is process to the next stage if the paper meets the appropriate quality and relevance requirements set by the journal or rejected if the manuscript is deemed unsuitable for publication and the researcher will receive a notification of rejection.
Step 3: Peer Review Assignment
The editor assigns the manuscript that passes initial assessment to reviewers or referees with expertise in the subject matter, whose identities are kept anonymous to ensure impartiality and minimize bias.
Step 4: Peer Review
Reviewers provide constructive feedbacks by thoroughly evaluating the manuscript's content, methodology, originality, and significance within a specific timeframe based on the journal policies.
Step 5: Decision
Based on atleast two reviewers report and his own reading of the manuscript, the editor decides regarding the manuscript and the decision can fall into several categories, including:
Based on the reviewer’s comments, the researchers should revise the manuscript accordingly, provide a detailed response to the editor explaining the changes made and resubmit the revised manuscript, along with the response letter. To ensure a fast publication process of the paper, we kindly ask authors to provide us with their proof corrections within the stipulated time.
Step 7: Final Decision and Publication
The editor re-evaluate the revised manuscript received from the author and the final is made by the editor taking into consideration the reviewer’s recommendation. If accepted, the manuscript goes through the publication process which includes copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading, before it is officially published in the journal.
Step 8: Post-Publication
Once the article is published, researchers should actively promote their work through various channels, such as social media and websites, in teaching, academic conferences, and collaboration with other researchers. It is crucial to engage with the scientific community, respond to queries and comments, and build on the research through further studies or collaborations.

Based on atleast two reviewers report and his own reading of the manuscript, the editor decides regarding the manuscript and the decision can fall into several categories, including:
- Acceptance: The manuscript is accepted for publication without any major revisions.
- Minor revisions: The manuscript requires minor revisions and improvements before final acceptance.
- Major revisions: The manuscript requires significant revisions and further review before a final decision can be made.
- Rejection: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.

Manuscript status
For manuscript status, please write in an email to [email protected]. All emails pertaining to manuscript status should be clearly indicated with the manuscript ID in the email subject, i.e. 'Manuscript ID status'.
