Reviewer
As with all other scientific journals, Letters in Food Research depends on volunteer peer reviewers and is looking for a diversity of opinions and voices to assure robust and high quality research is published.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Confidentiality: Reviewers should maintain confidentiality and not share any information about the manuscript or its review with anyone else, unless authorized by the editor.
- Objectivity and integrity: Reviewers should provide an unbiased and objective assessment of the manuscript's quality, based on their expertise and knowledge in the relevant field. They should not let personal or professional biases influence their evaluation.
- Constructive feedback: Reviewers should provide constructive and detailed feedback to the author, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript and suggesting improvements where appropriate.
- Ethical considerations: Reviewers should ensure that the research complies with ethical standards and guidelines, including those related to human or animal subjects.
- Disclose conflicts of interest: Reviewers should disclose any conflicts of interest that could be perceived as influencing their review of the manuscript.
- The use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the journal peer review process: The manuscript must be treated as a confidential document and the reviewers should not upload a submitted manuscript or any part of it into a generative AI tool as this may violate the authors’ confidentiality and proprietary rights and, where the paper contains personally identifiable information, may breach data privacy rights.
Timeliness
Reviewers should provide their review comments in a timely manner and notify the editor promptly if they cannot meet the deadline.
